It's Spring Time.
There are many object lessons to learn from nature, when we look at a seemingly dead tree bring forth buds and then flowers and leaves, we are reminded that spring is a time for new life, new hopes...and plenty of pollen (yikes - sorry for those who suffer allergies at this time).
There is another thing that this time of year is notorious for; LOTS of rain! We had some severe flooding in the City and in Westchester county today, and I saw how swollen some of our rivers were after the deluge. It was quite a scene! As I beheld the many puddles around me, I remembered California. The State is facing its worst drought ever! Water levels are so low, there is a mandatory water reduction program enforced for the whole state. I went on the "Save Our Water" page and saw many tips suggested to ensure that water is not wasted, while us in the East are drowning in it.
Isn't in interesting how sometimes one can have an abundance of something another is dying for? Object lesson!! We may be bemoaning all the rain in New York, but we forget that our friends in Cali would do ANYTHING to have a day like today. Let us not be so quick to 'shake a fist' at the weather; we may be more blessed in the midst of a thunderstorm than otherwise.
No matter what, let's praise God for the Spring (and pray for rain in Cali!!)
Very very very powerful object lesson BeLoved. May we have our eyes, hearts and understanding opened that we may be willing to bestow our surplus to fill a brother's need.
