Birthday 2016

I am beyond blessed!

God has blessed me with another birthday and it was great! I had such a wonderful, restful weekend with the hubby, and so glad for all the blessings and gifts that The LORD bestowed upon me.

For my birthday meditation, we studied Psalm 139. This is one of the most precious and powerful scriptures that detail The LORD creation and knowledge about even the most intimate portion of our thoughts. Here it is below:

Psalms 139:1   O LORD, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Psalms 139:2   Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Psalms 139:3   Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

Psalms 139:4   For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

Psalms 139:5   Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Psalms 139:6   Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Psalms 139:7   Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

Psalms 139:8   If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

  Psalms 139:9   If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Psalms 139:10   Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

Psalms 139:11   If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Psalms 139:12   Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

Psalms 139:13   For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

Psalms 139:14   I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

Psalms 139:15   My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Psalms 139:16   Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Psalms 139:17   How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

Psalms 139:18   If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Psalms 139:19   Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

Psalms 139:20   For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Psalms 139:21   Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

Psalms 139:22   I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Psalms 139:23   Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

Psalms 139:24   And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Birthday!

Happy birthday to my wonderful house-band!

Birthdays are always so special: whether the recipient loves them or not, or celebrates them or not, it is still a precious gift from The LORD to behold the date of one's birth-anniversary.

To my loving husband, I want to wish you the sincerest, blessed, happiest birthday ever! May each and every day in this new year of life be renewed and filled ministry and forward-motion.

Here is your charge for this year: "Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord". 1 Corin. 15:58

I am right by your side. Let's continue abounding in the work.

Birthday!

I loooooove birthdays!

It is a time to reminisce on the past years of life, to be thankful for the present one and hopeful for any future ones.

I also see it as a new year in one's life. Here now starts the beginning of another chapter in someone's life, and with it comes the hopes and plans for a makeover, new life change, new commitments and so much more.

I thank God for seeing another birthday! This week starts my 'new year'! Although I would like to celebrate all week, I also want to take this time to be reflective, deliberate and purposeful in strengthening my spiritual walk with The King.

Yom Kippur also is this week. It is the holiest day in Judaism, and it is a very solemn day of fasting and prayer for all (you can read about the day in Leviticus 16). Yom Kippur ('Day of Atonement') is well-known and constantly studied and spoken about in the Seventh-day Adventist faith. We believe this day does not just apply to this annual holy day, but that we are living in literal day of atonement where we should be afflicting our souls (Leviticus 23:32) before the Second Coming of Christ Jesus.

So to birthday celebrants worldwide, do we even take a moment (during our feasting and celebrating) to be solemn and reflective? Do we take some time to examine ourselves and to serve others instead of being served on our big day? Let's change the way we celebrate our birthday; let's spend some time giving instead of getting on our day, and perhaps even fasting a bit (it doesn't just have to be from food) as we seek for a deeper connection with Our God and Our fellow men.

Milestone Weekend ~ March 21-22

It was quite a weekend! This weekend, we celebrated a birthday, an anniversary, and a wedding!

My dearest friend celebrated her birthday on Sunday. Happy birthday Keneisha; may our friendship continue to grow and flourish ( 19 years and counting!!!! can you believe it! )

My beloved fiancé and I celebrated our anniversary this weekend. We reminisced on our path to engagement and how amazing The LORD has been in leading us thus far. It's been a wonderful couple of years and I know we are looking forward to future anniversaries.

And last (but not least), it was the wedding of my friends Tamra and Clinton. It was such a blessing to be a part of their big day, and to have my sweetheart by my side (we were definitely taking notes!!). May the LORD bless and keep you both as you start this wonderful path together!

And if you didn't have an eventful weekend like I did, don't fret, as long as you have life, you have hope and joy. Make every day count. Have a wooooonderful week all!!!

Thanks to God! Another Blessed Birthday

Thank You LORD for the blessing of another birthday!
If I were to count the number of gifts and blessings I received this birthday, this blog would not be able to contain them!

  • I am soooo thankful for life, for love, for health, strength and vitality.

  • I am blessed with many friends and family members who love me dearly.

  • I am thankful for stability and a sound mind, and a saving knowledge of Christ Jesus.

These are just the few that I will mention here, but there are a thousand more blessings I could have named.

I am looking forward to this new year with much excitement. I do not know what is in store for me, but I am expecting trials, temptations, but even more time with The LORD God Almighty!

Thank you again for all Your good gifts towards me:

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17
