How is it June already?! The year has been flying by.
Despite it being the first week of June, we have been having a very wet week and unseasonably cold temperatures, but the weather is expected to warm up by tomorrow and into the weekend.
Besides this, it will be a busy month for me:
- Children's Week of Prayer - will run from Sunday, 5/31 to Friday, 6/5. The theme for the week is "I will be true" with an emphasis on 'Obedience'. The set-up for the week took a few hours, but it was so great that we were able to finish well before the program began. Even though the first of our torrential downpours happened on Sunday night, we still have a good turn out of children!
- Children's Day - Children's Week of Prayer culminates on Sabbath with Children's Day on June 6, 2015. This is the day where the children in the congregation lead out in the church service . It will be a day, not to be missed. There will be three children presenters for the day, and the sermonettes will be based on "obedience".
- Pokot and GYC Manitoulin Mission Trips - We are just weeks away from these two mission trips in Kenya and Canada. As we get closer to the start dates in July, my planning teams will be having more meetings and correspondence in the next few days that will consume a lot of me. {please keep praying for these trips; we need them!}
- Wedding planning/researching, website maintenance, photo and video editing, and the list goes on...
I just want to thank God for His love and patience with me. In these busy periods, I must be careful not to become a 'Martha' in these times, where I become to busy doing the work of the LORD and not spending any time with The LORD. Yes, I must learn of Mary, who spend time at Jesus' feed when HE came to visit, but there is work to do.
I can't believe it's June already! Oh well "I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh when no man can work" (John 9:4)... gotta run....
