There is nothing like having a 'full plate' of activities to drain you.
Between work, church, ministry, wedding-planning and the 1000 other things that vie for your attention daily, one can really pull her (or his) hair out!!!
But (yes, there is a 'but')... when we are weak, it is then we realize we need strength.
Isaiah 40:31
Isaiah 40:31
One of the most beloved scriptural texts in many Christian circles is Isaiah 40:31. It says:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
This is a very packed verse. Did you see how it starts? There are promises given to those who wait! That four-letter word is not as beloved as it used to be. Society doesn't like waiting and technology doesn't encourage us to wait either. We are definitely in the microwave, 'need-it-now', instant-gratification age. But the scripture says those who wait upon The LORD will have renewed strength!
The second part of this scripture means more to me this year than ever before. A few months ago, I discovered a bald eagle web-cam that showed a bald eagle couple rearing their two eaglets. I was awestruck by how they cared and reared their young, and even their grace and beauty when flying through the air when leaving or returning to the nest. There is nothing more beautiful than seeing an eagle soar high up in the heavens; and yet the verse is saying with our renewed strength, we can soar on wings like those of eagles. What strong and steady they wings are! An eagle doesn't need to flap its wings when flying like other birds, it can extend its wings and literally float while flying, like a plane. I believe it is the best examples of poise, strength, power and elegance in the animal kingdom (I may just be that partial ;-).
The last part of the verse says {we} shall run and not be wearied, and walk and not faint. Our bodies are slowing down. From birth, we don't just grow up, we grow old, and as we age, our strength and speed fades. God promises strength and staying power if we wait on HIM. I believe this does not just apply to spiritual strength, but physical too, for it is the same Almighty Father who wishes we prosper and be in good health.
Be encouraged family, wait, I say, wait upon the LORD and HE will give you renewed strength and stamina to keep on running and keep on walking with HIM in these fast and furious days of 2015.

Well needed reminder. Praise God for this ministry. Praying for you love.
