There is a lot of good news out there...
The gospel IS good news personified! And the First Coming of our Lord Christ Jesus was the best news yet! In Isaiah 9:6 it said:
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
What a powerful and complete picture of Jesus, in just one of the many verses in the Old Testament! Not only do we see the Names that The LORD 'shall be called', but we also get glimpses into the characters behind these Names. Truly our God is Wonderful, MORE than Wonderful; He is our Counselor, Our Mighty and Strong God; Our Everlasting Father, Our Prince of Peace who also gives us peace in this troubled and tumultuous world.
During this holiday season of gift-giving, we are reminded to focus on the best Gift of All, The Gift of Christ Jesus!
