The old year is bowing out of the picture, and the new year is here.
For those of us who are Sabbath-keepers, and believe that the day ends with sunset and starts with sunset, it has already been the new year hours ago. There is much to rejoice about, but also a lot to reflect upon.
This is "2016 In Review"
- January 1st ~ My family watches the ball drop in Times Square on TV.
- Jan 1st ~ Last day of GYC in Kentucky. This was my first GYC missed since 2009, but was still thoroughly blessed by the recorded messages.
- Jan 22nd ~ Winter Storm Jonas hits the Northeast (first major snow storm of the new year in my area).
- Jan 2016 ~ "Ten Days of Prayer" initiative for this year is on the theme is 'Abide in Christ.
- Jan - April ~ Wedding planning continues!
- March - April ~ The Last Call Project on "The Foundation Series: Exploring The Foundations of Our Faith" series on the fundamental beliefs of the Adventist faith.
- April 2016 ~ Wedding Month! <3 Praaaaiiiseee The LORD! It was a beautiful, joyous, tearful, amazing day and month!!!
- April - June ~ Honeymoon, Road trips, mini vacations and staycations with the hubby to a few East Coast States!
- Summer 2016 ~ Our first visit to Block Island (if you haven't been, you are missing out on one of the most beauuuutiful, untouched coastal islands of the U.S!
- Oct 2016 ~ The 31st marks the 499th year of Martin Luther's protesting of the Catholic church's stances on indulgences. 2017 will be the BIG YEAR!
- Oct 2016 ~ Hurricane Matthew: The behemoth that raged through The Caribbean (especially Haiti and parts of Cuba, and some parts of the U.S.) went through all the major storm categories and caused 100's of deaths regionally and BILLIONS of dollars in damages.
- Oct 22, 2016 ~ The 172nd year of the GREAT Disappointment of 1844; a very big (and prophetic) year in Seventh-day Adventist History.
- Nov 7, 2016 ~ Presidential Election in the U.S.A; The country is severely divided along the lines of the two major candidates, and STILL divided even after the results came in.
- Dec 2016 ~ (Not into Hollywood and the celebrity news AT ALL) but December sees a lot more deaths of celebrities (it seems) than all year!
