With Brotherly Love

I receive daily scriptures on my phone and today's was Romans 12:10. It reads:

" Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another," (King James Version)

The gospel is good news engulfed in love. If salvation in Christ Jesus is not spoken of in love and filled with love, then it is not the true gospel. In Romans 12:10, we are reminded to show affection to one another with 'brotherly love' and in (and with) honor, we are to prefer others before ourselves. We are so good at scolding and chastising each other, that we sometimes (or perhaps most times) forget that love can accomplish a lot more than anger and hate can.

Today and always, remember adding 'with brotherly love' to all that you do and say.

The Results are in! The New President-Elect Is....

It's been 10 days since my last blog entry.
Since then, much have changed.

The U.S. Presidential election has come and gone; tempers and emotions have ebbed and flowed since the new president has been announced, and it still continues. The country is deeply divided with the results, and there have been some revolts in many major cities since Donald Trump has been revealed as the winner.

How are you doing? Are you fearful (or happy!), depressed (or ecstatic) or none of the above? Despite how you feel about the election results, let's keep praying for our leaders and governmental officials daily.

If perchance you are sorely saddened by the results, turn to the LORD for comfort and encourage yourself in the LORD with Psalms, hymns and scripture. If you are exceedingly happy with the results, even so, continue celebrating on your knees. To members on both sides, I leave this precious piece of Godly advice: "Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another" Romans 12:10. We differ when it comes to religion, politics, culture and even cuisine, sports and everything under the sun. Resist the enemy's plan to segregate us and be kind and loving to all. You may not agree with many things with another human being, but we should show respect for one's views, in the same way we would want that person to show respect for ours.

Take some time to memorize Romans 12:10 and do it today and always.
